Shock to Bikram Majithia: Supreme Court refuses to hear; Akali leader had filed a petition to dismiss the drugs case

Punjab’s veteran Akali leader Bikram Majithia, who was trapped in the drugs case, has suffered a major setback. The Supreme Court has refused to hear him. The Akali leader had filed a petition in the Supreme Court to quash the drugs case. The Supreme Court asked Majithia to place the matter before the Divisional Bench of the High Court. In which 2 judges will hear it. Drugs case was registered against Majithia by the previous Congress government. Since then he is lodged in Patiala Jail. He is yet to get bail.

Majithia is not getting bail
When a case was registered against Bikram Majithia, he first sought anticipatory bail. After the Mohali court, it was rejected by the High Court and the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court certainly gave him relief till he contested the elections. After this Majithia surrendered in Mohali court on 24 February. From where he was sent to jail. After this, he sought regular bail but due to the sections involved in the case, bail could not be obtained from the lower court.

Mann Sarkar changed SIT
After coming to power in Punjab, the AAP government led by CM Bhagwant Mann has changed the special investigation team of this case. The new team is working under the supervision of IG Gursharan Singh Sandhu. The head of this SIT is IPS officer S. Rahul has been created. The team consists of AIG Ranjit Singh Dhillon, DSP Raghuveer Singh and DSP Amarpreet Singh. The previous SIT was formed under the leadership of AIG Balraj Singh. On whom the Akali Dal had made serious allegations against Majithia of getting promotion for the son in return for the case.
