Airtel has announced a 25% increase in tariff rates on its prepaid plans. The new tariff rates will be applicable from November 26. Earlier in July, the company had also increased the price of the postpaid plan. After this, Airtel’s 28-day prepaid plan, which is currently priced at Rs 79, will become Rs 99. You will have to spend Rs 179 instead of Rs 149. After this, now Vodafone and Jio can also increase the price of the tariff plan.

Why did Airtel make the plans expensive?
Bharti Airtel has said that raising rates was necessary for a good and healthy business model. The company further said that the Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) should be Rs 200 and then it should be increased to Rs 300. So that companies can get the right return on the capital invested.

Jio and Vodafone can also increase the price
The new price of these prepaid plans will start from November 26. Jio and Vodafone are yet to announce the price hike. However, it is believed that after increasing the price of Airtel, now these companies can also increase the price of their prepaid plans soon.

Company shares jump
Shares of Bharti Airtel touched its 52-week high with a gain of 5% in early trade today. Which is located at Rs 749.15. The company has increased the mobile tariff of its prepaid customers. The effect of which was seen on this stock.

Airtel plans will be up to 50% more expensive than Jio
After this hike, Airtel’s prepaid plans have become 30 to 50% more expensive than Jio’s. Jio’s plan with 2GB and 28 days validity is Rs 129, while Airtel’s plan will cost Rs 179. Similarly, Jio’s 84-day validity plan with 1.5GB per day is Rs 555, while Airtel customers will have to pay Rs 719 for this.
