After this, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also announced that VAT will be reduced in the state even after all the troubles. After this, the state government announced a four percent reduction in VAT on petrol and diesel. However, the new rates of petrol and diesel have not been cleared yet. Madhya Pradesh is getting the most petrol and diesel in the country even after the cuts made by the Centre.

On Wednesday, the central government announced a reduction in the prices of petrol and diesel. Expressed hope that the states will also reduce VAT on petrol and diesel as a Diwali gift to the public. Some states took immediate steps. In a statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office in Uttar Pradesh, it was said that the price of petrol and diesel will be reduced by Rs 12 per liter. In Gujarat, the Chief Minister’s Office announced a reduction of Rs 7 per liter on petrol and diesel in the state.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced a reduction of Rs 2 per liter in the state government’s VAT on petrol, while Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh has also announced a reduction in VAT by Rs 7 per litre. In Bihar, the Nitish government has reduced VAT and this has given relief of Rs 1.30 on petrol and Rs 1.90 on diesel. Along with Assam, Tripura, Goa and Karnataka governments have also announced reduction of VAT by Rs 7 per litre.
