Breaking her silence in the ongoing porn film case related to the arrest of her husband Raj Kundra, actor Shilpa Shetty in a statement on Monday urged people to respect the privacy of the family, especially that of their children, and let the law take its course. allowed to do Kundra (45) was arrested by the Mumbai Crime Branch on July 19 in a case allegedly related to making obscene films and publishing them through certain apps. His bail application was rejected by the trial court last Wednesday. Posting a note on Instagram, Shetty wrote that he has full faith in the Mumbai Police and the Indian judiciary.

“As a family, we are resorting to all available legal remedies. But, until then I humbly request you – especially as a mother – respect our privacy for the sake of my children and request you to refrain from commenting without verifying the veracity of the half-baked information ,” the actor, who shares son Viaan (nine) and Kundra with daughter Samisha (one), wrote in a post.

Shetty’s remarks came days after the Bombay High Court refused to silence the media on the actor’s request against alleged defamatory articles published against her and the family after her husband’s arrest. In an interim application, Shetty had sought to restrain the media from publishing any “false, false, malicious and defamatory” material, to which the court said a blanket gag on the media against reporting anything on the matter. The passing of the order had a “chilling effect on the freedom of the press”. Justice Gautam Patel held that there is a judicial limit on what can be regarded as good or bad journalism, also noting that the articles referred to by Shetty in his suit do not appear to be defamatory.

Actor Kundra, who served on the jury panel of “Super Dancer Chapter 4”, has not appeared on Sony TV’s dance reality show since his detention. The police questioned Shetty in the matter, who told the authorities that they had no idea about the contents of the ‘Hot Shots’ app, through which her husband allegedly distributed pornographic films, according to sources.

In her statement on Monday, the actor also said that she is a “proud law-abiding Indian citizen” and has been a hardworking professional for the past 29 years. “People have believed in me and I have never let anyone down. So, most importantly, I request you to respect my family and my right to privacy during this time. We don’t deserve media trial. Please let the law take its course. Satyamev Jayate,” he added. Shetty, 46, said the past few days have been “challenging on every front” and the family has faced “a lot of rumors and allegations”.

“A lot of unfair allegations were leveled against me by the media and (not so) well-wishers. Got a lot of trolling/questioning? Not only for me but also for my family. My stand, I haven’t commented yet. And will continue to refrain from doing so in this case as it is under consideration, so please stop giving false quotes on my part. “Never complain, never explain,” reiterating my philosophy as a celebrity. All I would say is that since this investigation is on, I have full faith in the Mumbai Police and the Indian judiciary.
