AHMEDABAD: Four men and two women have been arrested in Gujarat’s Sabarkantha district for shaving off a 30-year-old widow accusing her of having an affair with a married man. The police gave this information on Monday.
The incident took place on July 30 at Sancheri village near Himmatnagar town, about 116 km from here, and the six accused were arrested a day later on August 1. FIR was registered, assistant inspector PP Jani of Gambhoi police station said.

The victim said in her complaint that a person whom she knew and was married to the sister of one of the accused had offered her a lift on his motorcycle when she was returning after some bank related work on July 30.
The police, citing the complaint, said that the four accused stopped and thrashed them near Raigad village, and later took both of them to Sancheri, where all the six accused beat them and shaved the widow as well as the man. who had offered to give him a lift.
