The Indian cricket team led by Shikhar Dhawan touched down on Sri Lankan soil on 28 June. The team is going through a strict quarantine, before resuming practice on the field till July 5. Now, to break the quarantine-bound monotony, Dhawan and cricketer Prithvi Shaw are engaged in an interesting ‘music and mime’ challenge. The video, which was shared by the official Twitter handle of the control board Cricket In India, it was shown that it was Indian captain Dhawan who won the game.
In the ‘Music and Mime’ challenge, the captain was asked to choose from two slips – one with the food items and the other with the names of the Indian players for Sri Lanka. The captain chose the latter and now had to catch the names that Shaw was speaking. Dhawan had to act through headphones with music blaring in his ears.
Using a smart strategy, Shaw started lip syncing the names of the players to start the challenge. At first, Dhawan seemed confused by the name of Ishaan Kishan, mistaking it as Manish Pandey. But the captain bounced back and caught Shaw’s lip sync correctly and picked the right name. In the blink of an eye, Dhawan guessed Shaw’s name correctly.
When Dhawan was on his way to guessing right, Shaw jokingly took the name of coach Rahul Dravid. To which, Dhawan highlighted how he can add the coach’s name to the players’ list, and Shaw admitted his foul play.
But the Indian captain was not entirely correct. He miscalculated on spinner Yuzvendra Chahal’s imitation and predicted him as Bhuvneshwar Kumar. And a similar miscalculation was taken on Kunal Pandya, who was predicted by Dhawan to be Suryakumar Yadav.
When the challenge went to Shaw, he chose the food list. Although the cricketers were able to guess the Vada Pav correctly, it took them a long time to fathom the ‘Butter Chicken’ and ‘Boiled Eggs’. The challenge ended with his attempt to recognize Dal Makhani as a ‘Saag’.
Obviously, the undisputed winner of the challenge was Dhawan. After this both of them nominated Suryakumarand Ishaan for the ‘Music and Mime’ challenge.
