Shibani Dandekar on sister Anusha Dandekar, Karan Kundrra breakup: It was an important journey for them

Television’s favorite couple actors Karan Kundrra and VJ Anusha Dandekar parted ways last year after being in a three-year-long relationship. Now, Anusha’s sister, actress Shibani Dandekar has opened up about her sister’s breakup in an interview with a news portal. When asked how she dealt with her break-up, and whether the sisters discussed these issues openly with each other, Shibani told India.com that the break up was a difficult place for Anusha.

“Her breakup was a difficult period in her life. This happened just before the lockdown. So, it was a difficult place for him to navigate. Because inevitably, then everyone is alone. You have to be able to reach the people in your life who are there for you, whether it’s on FaceTime or over a phone call”, added the actress.

Talking about how the lockdown has changed people’s expectations, he said, “What has happened in the last few years has really set the bar in terms of tolerance – what are we ready to deal with And what are we not willing to do. Together. We have changed. We are willing to accept a lot less than what we were willing to accept before. We want more from our lives. We want more from our relationships. We want to be perfect, we want to be happy. My sister has reached the point where she wants to be true to herself. She wants to live the best version of her life, she is the best in terms of her dating life. Wants to live the better version. It was an important journey for her. It was an important journey for us as sisters as well.”

Talking about the issue, Anusha shared the news of their breakup on Instagram with a long post. She had alleged that Karan “betrayed and lied” to her and apologized to her.

“We hide a lot about what’s going on in our lives because we worry about what other people will think. Just be honest and open about it. And, that’s what she chose to do.” He is in the public eye, their relationship was in the public eye. And, he just decided to say, ‘Yeh toh hai, yeh hua hua hai. I want to be honest about it and I hope people understand that. It can happen and can relate to and will be brave enough to speak their truth’,” concluded Shibani.
