Shark Tank India 2 contestant Ganesh Balakrishnan might not have got the kind of offer he wished for, but he has made waves with his incredible journey.

shark Tank India Season 2 has already grabbed the attention of the viewers. From innovative pitches to huge investments, this season has it all. While some pitchers walk away with more than they expected, others are forced to rethink the way they run their businesses. Among all the new contestants, one of them has gained immense popularity among netizens because of his willingness to save a struggling business and how he turned down an offer from the sharks.

Ganesh Balakrishnan founded Flatheads, a casual footwear line. Despite operating a loss-making business, her enthusiasm and passion towards her venture and her tumultuous journey struck a chord with the judges as Anupam Mittal of Shaadi.com named her along with two sharks Vinita Singh and Piyush Bansal Offered jobs to those willing to contribute. 75 lakh for a 33.3 per cent stake in the company. While Ganesh’s valuation for the company was Rs 25 crore, Shark’s was valued at Rs 2.25 crore. Unable to convince the judges, Ganesh decided to decline the offer, but despite this, the sharks were able to resonate with their plight. He said, “When I get a chance, I will try and set up (the business) again.”

Talking about Ganesh, Vinita Singh had praised Ganesh’s courage on her Twitter handle. She wrote, “It was so hard to see Ganesh doing what he loved and not being able to help him fulfill his dream that every time I speak about it, it makes me emotional. Proud of you Ganesh for doing the right thing. You have more courage than me and I hope you will see your dream again soon. Even the owner of the boat, Aman Gupta, had shared that he could see himself in Ganesh Balakrishnan. He had shared, “It takes real guts to say no to a great funding offer on national TV to restart and recalibrate.”

While Ganesh Balakrishnan could not avail the lucrative offer on the show, his pitch did not go in vain. Because within just two days, their entire inventory of Flatheads had sold out. Talking about it on his LinkedIn post, Ganesh expressed his gratitude to Shark Tank India as well as Anupam Mittal, Vinita Singh, Piyush Bansal, Namita Thapar and Aman Gupta. He wrote, “We have almost sold out our inventory in India so forgive us if you are unable to find your size on www.flatheads.in. If you can tell your friends in the US and UAE to try our shoes It would be amazing if they are. Since the Shark Tank India episode aired on Friday, there has been an incredible outpouring of compassion and support across the country. And with that, we’ve received record traffic to our Flatheads website, which is completely is organic! I’m so happy to report that we sold out of our limited quantity of shoes in 2 days! And for the first time ever, our CAC was ZERO! (sharks please note).”

The second season of Shark Tank India premiered on January 2 on Sony TV. The Sharks panel includes Namita Thapar, Executive Director, Emcure Pharmaceuticals, Piyush Bansal, CEO, Lenskart, Anupam Mittal, Founder, Shaadi.com, Vinita Singh, CEO, Sugar Cosmetics and Aman Gupta, Co-Founder and CMO, boAt Lifestyle. CarDekho co-founder Amit Jain has replaced Ashneer Grover in season two.
