Shantanu Bhagyaraj, Athulya Ravi-starrer Murungakkai Chips gets ‘A’ certificate

Actors Shantanu Bhagyaraj and Athulya Ravi-starrer ‘Murungakkai Chips’ has received ‘A’ certificate (restricted for adult audience) from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The Tamil comedy film is all set to hit the theaters on December 10 after several delays. The Censor Board has cleared the film with an ‘A’ certificate before its release. The running time of the film is 2 hours 22 minutes. Directed by Shreejar, the film will feature Bhagyaraj, Urvashi, Yogi Babu in lead roles.

In CBFC certificates of films, ‘A’ – stands for ‘Adults Only’, which prohibits any person below the age of 18 years from watching a film in theatres.

The comedy-drama film deals with a newly wed couple’s first-night function and what the two sides of the family ask their daughter and son to do.

In a recent tweet, Shantanu said that the film will leave everyone with a smile. He also appealed to everyone to watch his film in theatres.

Athulya Ravi playing the lead role said, “I am playing the role of a girl who enters into an arranged marriage. The story revolves around the first night of this couple. Shantanu and I had a lot of scenes together because we are playing a couple inside a bedroom, and it was nice to work with him. ,

The film is produced by Ravinder Chandrashekhar of Libra Productions.

Featuring music by Dharan Kumar, the songs of the film have already turned into chartbusters ‘Edho Sola’, ‘Talku Lesu Varku Moru’ and ‘Wildoo Strawberry’ among fans.

Earlier, the film was supposed to premiere on November 19, but the release was postponed due to some ‘inevitable reasons’. Now it will hit the theaters on December 10.
