Shahid Kapoor Joins Vishal Bhardwaj’s First Action Thriller?

In a piece of exciting news, Shahid Kapoor will be playing the lead role in Vishal Bhardwaj’s first action thriller. Reportedly, the shooting is scheduled to begin this September. The collaboration between the actor and filmmaker has already generated immense excitement, as the duo has previously delivered critically acclaimed films such as Kaminey and Haider.
Pinkvilla has exclusively learned that producer Sajid Nadiadwala is bringing back the combo of Shahid Kapoor and Vishal Bhardwaj for an action-packed thriller. According to sources, “Vishal Bhardwaj has developed the first action film of his career and the maker is planning to mount it on a big scale. It’s a mission-based action thriller and Sajid Nadiadwala is excited to bring it to the spectacle in the biggest possible way. The duo of Sajid and Vishal believe that Shahid Kapoor is the best fit of the role. The makers are looking to create 6 massive action set pieces for the yet untitled feature film.”
“Shahid has utmost respect for Vishal and Sajid, and he was on board the film the minute he heard the narration. This would be Shahid’s next film to go on floors. He is looking to embark on a journey with Vishal and Sajid from September / October 2024,” the source added. The film will be shot extensively in India and the US.
Recently, Shahid Kapoor has completed the shoot of his upcoming action drama Deva co-starring Pooja Hedge. The film was announced by him on Dussehra last year.
The actor took to Instagram to announce his new film on the occasion of Dusssehra last year. He also shared the first look in which Shahid appeared to be playing the role of a police officer in the movie. In the photo, Shahid was seen flaunting his short hairdo while holding a gun in his hand. The actor sported a bracelet and wore a half-button shirt with a pair of khakee pants. Shahid completed his look with a pair of sunglasses that reminded us of Kabir Singh.
Deva will be directed by Rosshan Andrrews and is produced by Zee Studios and Roy Kapur Films. He was last seen in Teri Baaton Mein Uljha Jiya. The film was loved by audience. It also stars Kriti Sanon in the lead role.
