It has been 17 years since the director Indra Kumar directed Dhamaal headlined by Sanjay Dutt, Riteish Deshmukh and others released at the cinemas on September 7, 2007. The film became a hit at the box office and is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video and the Zee 5.
Dhamaal was a remake of It’s a Mad Mad Mad Mad World directed by Stanley Kramer. Dhamaal received appreciation from the audience for its humorous script, crackling chemistry between the cast and many other factors. Apart from Sanjay Dutt and Riteish, Arshad Warsi, Jaaved Jaaferi, Aashish Chaudhary and others also acted in this film. According to the industry tracker Sacnilk report, this film was produced on a budget of Rs 17 crore and earned an estimated Rs 50.73 crore.
Many epic comic sequences in Dhamaal are etched in the audience’s hearts. One of them is the ground staffer Dev Kumar Malik (Vijay Raaz) who tries to help Boman Contractor (Aashish Chaudhary) and Nari Contractor (Govardhan Asrani). The ground staffer overexplains everything to the father-son duo without understanding their problem. This makes the situation more hilarious and one of the most remarkable scenes from the film.
After Dhamaal’s success, director Indra Kumar directed the second and the third part of this film as well. Both films received good reviews but as per the audience, none could match the franchise’s first part.
Despite the mixed reviews for the second and third part, the director Indra Kumar is looking forward to Dhamaal’s 4th installment. According to a Pinkvilla report, Ajay Devgn, Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi and Javed Jaffrey will act in the film.
Dhamaal’s 4th part is set to go on floors by the end of 2024. The report mentions that this part will be the biggest film from the franchise. According to the report, Indra Kumar along with Ajay Devgn are looking to create a completely new world for Dhamaal 4. The report says that the basic plot is locked and the team is now working to design the new visuals.
Dhamaal 4 will be released at the cinemas by the end of 2025.
