Shahid Afridi, Misbah-ul-Haq, Muralitharan, Sreesanth, Lendl Simmons to Play in Legends League Cricket

The league has recently signed on Simon Taufel as the Director of Match Ethics and Regulation to reinforce the faith of the Legends League cricket fans in transparent and clean cricket.

Shahid Afridi, Misbah-ul-Haq, Muttiah Muralitharan, Robin Uthappa, Lendl Simmons and S Sreesanth will be part of the tournament in the new season of Legends League cricket to be held in February and March 2023 in Doha, Qatar.

“We thoroughly enjoyed the second season. The level of competition was beyond our own expectations and all the players played at their best. We expect this season to be even more exciting as we look at the various teams from around the world, Asia and India. It’s always a proud moment to play for India For me,” Sreesanth said in an official statement.

The league saw a high level of competitive cricket from the legends of the game in India over the course of 15 matches, played in 6 cities across the country, with a global reach of 1.2 billion fans.

“It was great to watch the Legends play during the last season of Legends League Cricket when I was doing commentary. I am driven by enthusiasm. Now I will play with my old teammates on the field. It will be fun,” Uthappa said.

In the current format starting from February, three teams – World Giants, Asia Lions and Indian Maharaja will battle it out for the Champions Trophy. Last year, World With some outstanding performances from the veterans the Giants won the first trophy.

“We are looking forward to playing this season with more excitement and fun,” Muraleedharan said.
