Both Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan started building their empires out of nothing. Do you know that there was a phase in their life when they did not have enough money to buy flowers for each other. Yes, you heard it right. The shocking revelation was made by Shahrukh Khan himself.
Flowers have always been associated with the notion of romance in Bollywood. However, there was a time when Baazigar Bollywood Couldn’t afford to give flowers to his girlfriend. During an interaction with Bonobiology in 2018, Shah Rukh Khan revealed that before becoming a big Bollywood phenomenon, he was a struggling man who was working hard to make ends meet in his daily life.
Both Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri could not buy gifts or flowers. They did not have enough money to go to restaurants or eat street food like Chole Bhature. He said, ‘Earlier neither I nor Gauri could have given a good gift for each other. There was a time when we couldn’t even buy flowers for each other. We didn’t have money to go to hotels and pay for Chole Bhature. ,
However, financial problems did not dull their romantic life in any way. Expensive gifts and luxury living weren’t there, but they make it a point to make handmade gifts for each other. During the same conversation, Shah Rukh Khan said that those handmade gifts were the best that he had given to anyone.
He concluded, “Even when we were students, we exchanged birthday cards that we made for each other and I thought the cards I made (for Gauri) were very creative. They were the best gifts I have ever given to anyone.”
For those unaware, Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri tied the knot on October 25, 1991, in a traditional Hindi wedding ceremony. The two have three children together, Aryan who was born in 1997, and Suhana who was born in 2000. The couple welcomed him. Third child, son AbRam, via surrogacy in 2013.
