Shah Rukh Khan Completes 31 Years In Bollywood, Hosts ‘AskSRK’ Session With Fans

Mumbai: Superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who completed 31 years in the Hindi film industry on Sunday, says being able to entertain many people many times is his “proudest achievement”. Known as the King Khan of Bollywood, the 57-year-old star began his acting journey with TV serials like “Fauji” and “Circus” before making his feature film debut with Raj Kanwar’s “Deewana”. The romantic drama released on 25 June 1992, starring Rishi Kapoor and Divya Bharti.

Shah Rukh, who made a grand comeback on the big screen after a gap of four years with the blockbuster “Pathan” in January, conducted a Q&A session #AskSRK with fans and followers on Twitter to mark the completion of another year in films. “Wow, just realized it’s been 31 years to the day Deewana released on screens. When a social media user asked what was his “proudest achievement” in these 31 years, the actor replied, “Being able to entertain many, many times. That’s all.” He said, “Working with Deewanaji and Rajji” was something he will never forget from the sets of “Deewana”.

People were curious as to how Shah Rukh chooses his projects after having done “almost every kind of role” in his career. In his response, the actor said: “I now try to do the kind of film that the particular director wants to do?…not just what I see myself.”

Another asked if there is one thing that he has been following consistently since his debut, to which he said that he writes the entire back story and ideology of the character. “Sometimes share it with the director or just keep it to yourself. It can be a poem or a whole story,” he said.

The actor said his favorite aspect of being an actor is “being in someone else’s shoes and making their dreams come to life”.

A Twitter user also asked Shah Rukh to comment on the performance of a cappella group Penn Masala, who performed his popular song “Chaiyya Chaiyya” from the film “Dil Se…” at the White House ahead of Prime Minister Narendra’s arrival.
