Divya Dutta hosted an event to launch her second book ‘The Stars in My Sky’ in Mumbai on Wednesday. The book was officially launched by Shabana Azmi and Javed Akhtar. Other special guests were Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, Sriram Raghavan, Gurdas Maan, Deepak Bahri, Sameer Nair and Rajit Kapoor. Everyone talked about their bond with the actress while Gurdas Maan sang Kudiye Kismat Di Ae and left everyone spellbound.
The program began with Dutta reading out an excerpt from the book in his captivating voice. Sriram Raghavan said, “I have read a few chapters and I love the way Divya has written it. We meet every 3-4 months and discuss films whenever I am making anything. She has become a friend. He’s funny and crazy.”
Javed Akhtar was in his witty style. He said, “I have just seen the book and I don’t know what to say because I haven’t read the book yet. Instead of his writings, I will talk about the author. He has a gleam in his eyes and he will always be more She is curious to know. There are some people that whatever has happened, it has happened, but they have the desire and effort to improve, and to take you far, this is the girl.”
Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra cited poet Subramaniam Bharti’s ‘Nirbhay’ to say that the poem suits Divya as she is Nirbhay (fearless). The book is about people who have been an important part of Dutta’s professional journey including Amitabh Bachchan, Javed Akhtar, Shabana Azmi, Gurdas Maan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Gulzar, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and Nitin Kakkar.
