The first batch of Sikh pilgrims went to Pakistan on Wednesday to celebrate the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev. This group went under the leadership of Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC) via Attari border. This is the first group to go to Pakistan on a religious visit in the last one and a half years after the infection of the Corona epidemic started.

On Wednesday morning, the pilgrims of this batch were given their passports at the SGPC office in Amritsar. This group will visit Gurughars in Pakistan till November 26 and will return on November 27.

Passports of 1046 people were sent by SGPC to Pakistan on the occasion of Prakash Parv of Guru Nanak Dev. The Pakistan government issued visas to 855 of these people, while the applications of 191 people were rejected. The pilgrims involved in the batch bowed their heads at the Golden Temple in Amritsar on Wednesday morning and then the SGPC took them to the Attari border by buses. During this, Sangat thanked SGPC for the arrangements.

Kartarpur corridor opening double the enthusiasm

Of the 855 pilgrims in the SGPC batch, more than half have gone to Pakistan for the first time to visit Gurughars. There are about 179 Gurdwaras in Pakistan. On the other hand, the enthusiasm of these devotees was doubled due to the news of the opening of Kartarpur Corridor. He said that now he will be able to visit Kartarpur Sahib anytime.

corona Entry only if the test report is negative

According to the guidelines issued by the Pakistani government, only those Indians will be allowed to enter Pakistan, who will have a negative report of 72 hours old corona test. SGPC spokesperson said that all the people involved in the batch have been tested. Its report has already been sent to the Attari border for necessary paper formalities. All these people have also got both the doses of corona vaccine.
