On the demand of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has decided to remove the mention of Khalistan from the new class 12 textbook. In the month of April, SGPC wrote a letter to NCERT demanding its removal. Announcing this, School Education Secretary Sanjay Kumar has shared the information.

Education Secretary said- In the political science book of class 12, there was mention of Khalistan related to Sri Anandpur Sahib resolution. SGPC demanded its removal. We have removed it. Actually, SGPC had written a letter to NCERT. In this, there was a demand that the mention of Khalistan should be removed from the 12th class book.

Also, the mention of that thing should be removed from NCERT books, in which Sikhs were shown as ‘separatists’.

There was wrong information about Shri Anandpur Sahib Mate
SGPC Principal Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami had spoken two months ago in the month of April about the presence of wrong information about Sri Anandpur Sahib’s opinion in politics in Swatantra Bharat, a class 12 book. Advocate Dhami had said that with this the sentiments of Sikhs were hurt.

It is not appropriate to present Sikhs as separatists while explaining the opinion of Shri Anandpur Sahib, so NCERT should remove it immediately.

Even today the rights and interests of the states are ignored
Advocate Dhami raised the objection that Shri Anandpur Sahib’s Mata is a historical document, in which there is nothing wrong. It talks about the rights of the states. It is sad that the situation is the same even today. The rights and interests of the states are being ignored.

Pradhan had accused the central government that those speaking the language of the Hindu nation were being deliberately benefitted. On the other hand, instead of solving the issues of minorities, anti-British feelings are being created by creating misconceptions about them.
