The Madhya Pradesh Police on Saturday claimed to have busted a sex racket being run in several spa centers in Singrauli district and rescued over a dozen women, including minors.

Singrauli SP Yusuf Qureshi told the press that the raids were conducted on the basis of complaints received from various people. Three teams of district police raided six spa centers simultaneously.

During the raid, the sex racket running in these spa centers was busted. More than a dozen women were rescued, Qureshi said, who have been taken into police custody for further investigation.

Qureshi further said that the owners of two spa centers – “Sudhanshu Spa Center” and “777” have been arrested and booked under the ‘Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act’.

Qureshi said women were trafficked from Odisha, Kolkata, Assam and Nagaland. “A total of 13 women, including minors, were rescued from the two spa centres. We are trying to find out the nexus of girls being trafficked from other states. We have come to know that there is a strong nexus involved in trafficking of girls and operating sex racket. The investigation is still underway,” he said.
