Sex assault case: Malayalam superstar Dileep files petition for anticipatory bail in Kerala High Court

Troubled actor Dileep on Monday moved the Kerala High Court seeking anticipatory bail in a fresh case registered by the police investigation team probing the kidnapping of the actress in which he is an accused.

Last week, the police had registered a non-bailable case against Dileep, his brother Anoop, his brother-in-law Suraj and other family members.

The case was registered following the revelations by a close friend of actor and Malayalam film director Balachandra Kumar.

Dileep, in his petition, said that all the disclosures are “baseless” and he has not done anything wrong.

Kumar, who recently parted ways with Dileep, had told the police that the actor had some clips of the female actor who was sexually assaulted.

On Sunday, Kerala Police Deputy SP Biju Pauloz, who was the investigating officer, filed a complaint with the Kerala Police stating that Kumar had given a statement that Dileep, while watching a YouTube video at his home, had remarked that he would remove the investigating officer. . as well as the other four officers who were responsible for arresting him.

The probe team has now sought permission to question Pulsar Suni, the main accused who led the kidnapping of the actress, while Kumar has now been asked to appear before a magistrate to record his statement following the revelations made by him. .

Dileep was arrested in 2017 and jailed in a case related to filming scenes and sexually assaulting a frontline heroine of South Indian films.

After two months in jail, he was released on bail and the trial of the case is going on, when the latest revelations have come to light.
