Selfie: Bollywood Actor Akshay KumarThe film, which was announced in January this year and also stars Emraan Hashmi, has finally got a release date. Produced by Dharma Productions, Prithviraj Productions, Magic Frames and Cape of Good Films, ‘Selfie’ is all set to hit the silver screens on February 24, 2023. The upcoming drama-comedy will also star Diana Penty and Nushrat Bharucha in pivotal roles. Film critic and film trade analyst Taran Adarsh confirmed the development on his Instagram handle.
He wrote, “Akshay Kumar – EmraanHashmi: ‘Selfie’ on 24 February 2023… #Selfie – Official remake of the #Malayalam film #Driving License starring #AkshayKumar and #EmraanHashmi – on 24 February 2023 *cinema * Will release in… costars #NushrrattBharuccha and #DianaPenty.”
Earlier in the day, the new release date of Kartik Aaryan’s Shehzada was announced. The film will be seen clashing Karan Johar directorial Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani starring Alia Bhatt And Ranveer singh, The film which was earlier scheduled to release on November 4, 2022, will now release on February 10 next year on Valentine’s Day weekend.
Selfie is the Hindi remake of Malayalam film ‘Driving Licence’, starring Prithviraj and Suraj Venjaramoodu in the lead roles. Now, Akshay and Emraan will reprise their roles for the remake.
Filmmaker Raj Mehta has come on board for the project. It is produced by Late Aruna Bhatia, Hiroo Yash Johar, Supriya Menon, Karan Johar, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Apoorva Mehta and Listin Stephen.
