Selena Gomez warns of trolling body shamers

Singer-actress Selena Gomez has warned body shamers not to “b***h” about her weight in a social media post. Using her TikTok story, the 29-year-old singer/actress shared a clip of herself saying, “So I’m trying to stay skinny, but I went to Jack in the Box and got me four tacos, three egg rolls. Meal, onion rings and a spicy chicken sandwich.” As reported by aceshowbiz.com, she said that she doesn’t judge herself for what she eats and wants other people not to do the same.

“But honestly, I don’t care about my weight because people think about it anyway,” Selena said.

“‘You’re too young,’ ‘You’re too big,’ ‘It doesn’t fit.’ ‘Meh meh meh’,” he continued before slapping the trolls, “B***h, I’m perfect the way I am.

This wasn’t the first time Selena has spoken out about the disgusting comments she’s received on her body.

During an interview with Cosmopolitan in 2020, the “Bad Lear” singer revealed that her weight often fluctuates because of the medications she takes to help fight lupus.

“I’ve become insecure. I also have lupus so I fluctuate a lot in my weight,” she confessed.

However, the singer-actress shared that she has learned to deal with insensitive comments after being body shamed in 2019.

In 2019, Selena faced huge physical embarrassment as her health issues resulted in fluctuating weight. Because of this, he also decided to leave social media. During an appearance on the ‘Giving Back Generation’ podcast in November of that year, she said, “I experienced[body shaming]for the first time with my weight fluctuations.”

“I have lupus and deal with kidney issues and high blood pressure, so I deal with a lot of health issues, and for me this is when I really started looking at body image stuff more ,” she explained. “So for me, I really started to notice when people started attacking me.”

The ‘Lose You to Love Me’ songwriter further elaborated, “Actually, it’s just my truth. I fluctuate. It depends on what’s happening in my life.” All the negativity took a toll on her mental health as well.

“It’s big time for me. I think for me, it really messed me up a little bit,” she admitted.
