Robin Uthappa has backed Shikhar Dhawan to have a big score as PBKS take on Sunrisers Hyderabad in Mohali.

The Punjab Kings will have their next game against the Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Mullanpur Stadium in Mohali and Robin Uthappa has backed the PBKS skipper to go big in the upcoming clash while Eoin Morgan has backed the visitors to get the job done in Punjab.

Speaking on JioCinema, Uthappa feels strongly that Dhawan could be in line for a big score with the left-hander being a consistent player with the bat and he remains excited to see what is in store for the senior opening batter.

“Shikhar Dhawan is due for a big score and we seldom see him going through an IPL without scoring big scores. I am amped up to see him score well and see him score big runs,” said the former Indian international.

The T20 World Cup-winner believes that Dhawan has been a fine performer across the franchises he has played for at the top and has scored consistently which led to his prediction that Dhawan would score big.

“He has set some high standards for himself as an opening batter and has always been among the runs in the IPL. I am predicting a big score from Shikhar Dhawan,” Uthappa added.

England’s ODI World Cup-winning skipper, Eoin Morgan also chimed in with his predictions. Unlike Uthappa, he has predicted that SRH’s strong batting unit to keep firing.

“I think more fireworks from Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, Heinrich Klaasen, the names just roll off the tip of the tongue. It is not just in their team, that they are causing fireworks, they are creating a lot of chat around the tournament at the moment,” added Morgan.

PBKS and SRH have picked up two wins in the four games played and a win could help them separate from the bottom of the table and improve their chances of securing a playoff berth. Morgan also fancies the partnership SRH have with Pat Cummins leading the side along with Daniel Vettori as the coach.

He concluded by saying,” Both sides are on 4 points so there will be so many that will jump at the 6 points with a cluster of teams making early moves in the tournament but wouldn’t be believably exciting to watch. I am enjoying the combination with Daniel Vettori, the new coach and Pat Cummins, the new SunRisers captain,” Morgan said while talking in the same panel”.
