Security breach in PM Narendra Modi’s roadshow in Karnataka, man with garland intercepted – Watch

Hubli (Karnataka): A major security lapse was reported on Thursday during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s roadshow in Hubli during his visit to Karnataka to inaugurate the 26th National Youth Festival. A young man broke the security cordon of PM Modi while trying to garland him. News agency ANI reported that the security personnel pulled him away. PM Modi was given a warm welcome in the city as people thronged the streets and were seen showering flowers on his motorcade. This program is being organized to honor and cherish the ideals, teachings and contributions of Swami Vivekananda on National Youth Day, which is celebrated on his birth anniversary. According to an official statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, the National Youth Festival is organized every year to motivate as well as highlight our talented youth towards nation-building at the national level.

“It brings together diverse cultures from all parts of the country on a common platform and unites the participants in the spirit of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat. This year, the festival is being held in Hubli-Dharwad, Karnataka from January 12 to 16. The theme is “Developing Youth – Developed India”, the statement said.

The festival will witness the Youth Summit, which will witness plenary discussions on five themes related to the G20 and Y20 events. The future of work, industry, innovation and 21st century skills; climate change and disaster risk reduction; peace building and reconciliation; Youth in a Common Future-Democracy and Governance; and health and wellness.

According to the PMO, over sixty eminent experts will participate in the summit. Several competitive and non-competitive events will also be organized. “Competitive events will include folk dances and songs and will be organized to promote local traditional cultures.
