Police officers shot and killed a man Saturday night after ramming his car and firing a rifle at a federal building in downtown Seattle, police said.

Police said in a statement that shots were fired before police arrived at the federal building at the corner of First Avenue and Marion Street.

When the officers arrived after 8 pm, the man, who remains unidentified, was reportedly armed with a rifle.

He was found outside his pickup truck, which he crashed into the building before being killed by police. No one else was hurt in the incident.
