Infection of this bacteria in children is increasing in Kolkata. 10 children suffering from scrub typhus are admitted to a hospital in Park Circus. A child from Jodhpur is also suffering from scrub typhus. That’s why the health department is alert. The Health Department has decided to procure additional IgM kits for the diagnosis of the disease. The state has decided to send the kits to laboratories in 44 government hospitals in the state.
The carrier of scrub typhus is a type of insect called trombiculid mites. Scrub typhus enters the body by the bite of this insect. If this disease is detected earlier then it can be dealt with. But if it’s too late, doctors say it could lead to death. Fever occurs when infected with scrub typhus. However, there are many symptoms in that condition, they are – headache, persistent fever, low blood pressure, cold, stomach problems, pain in hands etc. In addition, there are spots at the site of insect bites.
