Schneider Electric launches ‘Green Warrior’ initiative in India

New Delhi: Schneider Electric has launched its sustainability engagement initiative, Green Yodha, in India to encourage industries, businesses and individuals to take concrete climate action.

The call is intended to support India’s increased commitment to COP26.

A company statement said, “Schneider Electric, a leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, has launched its campaign in India to encourage and support businesses, industries and individuals to come together and take concrete climate action.” Launched the Green Yodha, a sustainability engagement initiative.”

During COP26, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that India will reduce its estimated carbon emissions by 1 billion tonnes between 2021 and 2030.

With these developments, Schneider Electric urges energy-intensive sectors — cement, iron and steel, commercial and industrial buildings, non-metallic minerals and chemicals — to join forces to achieve the common goal, it said.

France-based Schneider Electric has been named the world’s most sustainable corporation in 2021 by Corporate Knights.

Congratulating the company for the initiative, NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant said, a program like Green Yoddha is designed to enable industries to use innovative technologies to become energy efficient and reduce their carbon footprint. To provide energy solutions.

Taking a pledge to be a green warrior, Madhav Singhania, Deputy Managing Director and CEO, JK Cement said in the statement, “To protect our planet, we have set a strong target of 75 per cent green power and controlling CO2 emissions in cemented products to 465 kg. /ton by 2030.”

To enable this vision, JK Cement is partnering with Schneider’s Ecostructure Solutions to optimize energy and fuel consumption, seamless integration of all energy measurement instruments, adoption of digitization solutions, he said.

It also aims to train 1 million people in energy management in line with its objective of expanding energy access to 50 million people and bridging progress and sustainability for all.
