New Delhi: Supreme court has refused to entertain the petition seeking directions to maintain the centralized door To disseminate real-time information about essential Goods Related to covid-19.
A bench of Justice DY Chandrachud, Justice Vikram Nath and Justice Hima Kohli directed the petitioner to approach the ministry Health and to consider suggestions including need for a centralized portal for family welfare covid Items like oxygen cylinders, oxygen concentrators and medicines needed during infection.
“Since the petitioner has some suggestions, it would be appropriate to give them liberty to transfer the suggestions to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare for consideration of the suggestions including the need for a centralized portal.” Their suggestions may be duly looked into at the appropriate level. The petition is deemed to have been withdrawn with the aforesaid liberty,” the bench said in its order passed on Monday.
The top court was hearing a plea by the SFS School Old Boys Association seeking directions for the portal.
Arunpal Singh Behl, who appeared personally for the association, said the petition under Article 32 of the Constitution was instituted during the second wave of the pandemic.
Bahl submitted that he has some suggestions regarding maintaining a centralized portal to disseminate real time information about ‘COVID commodities’ required to ensure uniformity and transparency and to curb black marketing and hoarding of supplies. .
