CM Yogi had come on 8 September 2018 to immerse the ashes of the former Prime Minister in Yamuna. At that time he had made many promises.

Bharat Ratna is the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji today, i.e. on 25th December. BJP is remembering him. Wreath is being offered from Delhi to Uttar Pradesh. On the other hand, his ancestral home in Bateshwar, Agra has been forgotten. In its courtyard, 5-5 feet high bushes have grown. One part of the roof is covered with dry grass, while the buffalo is being tied in front.

When Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had come here on September 8, 2018, three years ago to flow Atalji’s ashes in the Yamuna, he had promised to beautify this house. Then there was cleanliness here, then no one took care. Even today Yogi came to Bateshwar, but did not go to see this house located only half a kilometer away from here. It is also sad for Ashwini Vajpayee, who seems to be a nephew in Vajpayee’s relationship. They say Bateshwar is shining for the Chief Minister. But, no one came to Atalji’s ancestral residence.

The promises made by Yogi three years ago-

  • Ashwani Vajpayee told that when CM Yogi came in 2018, he had announced to make Atal ji’s ancestral house a grand memorial, but this announcement has not been completed yet.
  • Apart from this, there was also talk of converting Jangalat Kothi into a museum. But still nothing has changed here. Junglet Kothi is the same place where Atal Bihari Vajpayee, influenced by Mahatma Gandhi’s Quit India Movement in 1942, hoisted the national flag along with more than 300 patriots.
  • In the memory of Atalji, an announcement was made to open a girls school in his name in Bateshwar, but this school also could not be opened in his village. Due to politics, this school has gone 25 km away from his village. Apart from this, the demand for opening a degree college has also not been fulfilled.
The announcement to make Jangalat Kothi a memorial has also not been completed.

Halt could not be made station
Atalji laid the foundation stone of Agra-Etawa via Bateshwar rail line on 6 April 1999 while being the Prime Minister. This railway line was inaugurated on 24 December 2015 by Manoj Sinha, who was the Railway Minister in the BJP government. After this there was hope that Bateshwar would be known as Atal station, but after six years this halt is in darkness. There is no facility for the passengers here. There is a demand of people that more and more trains should stop here and it should be known as Atal Station.

There is still a demand to make Bateshwar Halt an Atal station.
