Ahead of the release of Aamir Khan’s upcoming film Laal Singh Chaddha, there is a debate on Twitter whether the actor did the accent in the film or not. The debate has started since the release of the trailer of the film on social media. Some believe he did a great job while others believe he could have done better. TV actress Sargun Mehta also expressed her views about the ongoing debate in an exclusive interview to India.com and said, “If Aamir would have said in pure Punjabi, no one would have understood. If the superstar does a Bengali film next time and If he uses too many Bengali words, we will not be able to understand him.”
He further talked about how difficult it is for actors to learn new accents as it requires a lot of hard work and time. She further added: “Aamir sir is not Punjabi, and he has played a role. Actors should play versatile roles. I can say he could have done a little more, but as much as he has done a lot of work and mehndi laggi hai. , Utta karna bhi (He has put in a lot of hard work and effort to reach the level he has done in the film).”
Apart from Sargun’s comment, singer Gurnam Bhullar said, “Basically, it is a national cinema which will be released across India. Hindi films have a mix of Punjabi, Marathi, Tamil etc. We are the ones who do these things.” So, it shouldn’t matter.”
The makers of Laal Singh Chaddha have released two songs from the film so far – Kahaani and Mein Ki Karan? The songs were released without a music video to bring the singers and musicians into the limelight.
Laal Singh Chaddha is directed by Advait Chandan and Aamir Khan will share screen space with Kareena Kapoor, Naga Chaitanya and Abhinav Raj Singh in the film. The actor will play the lead role in the film.
This is not Aamir Khan’s first collaboration with Advait Chandan as the two have previously worked together in films like Taare Zameen Par and Secret Superstar.
