In an intriguing story, Vicky Kaushal gave fans a glimpse of his upcoming film Sardar Udham. Directed by Shoojit Sircar, the film is produced by Ronnie Lahiri and Sheel Kumar and is slated to release on Amazon Prime Video during Dussehra on October 16, 2021. Chronicling the lesser-known story of the great Indian revolutionary, Sardar Udham Singh, the film delves deep into his immense courage to avenge the deaths of his countrymen in an incident that shook the British Empire. Vicky, who will play the lead role in the film, shared the teaser video on his verified social media account.
The video begins with the protagonist meticulously doing a document. The focus is on the stack of passports, each depicting a different name – Ude Singh, Frank Brazil, Sher Singh, with the latest, ‘Udham Singh’ being added to the pile, across it. Finally zooming in on a picture of Vicky Kaushal playing Sardar Udham Singh, the teaser video sets the tone for the intriguing and gripping story of a patriot, who has many nicknames, but with a single mission in life – of India. Tragedy to avenge the worst.
Sharing the video, Vicky captioned it, “On the birth anniversary of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, I am proud to bring to you the story of his colleague – Sardar Udham Singh – one man, many surnames, one mission.”
Meanwhile, Vicky has started preparing for his upcoming film ‘The Immortal Ashwatthama’. The film is being marketed as a “high-concept visual spectacle”. It will be directed by Aditya Dhar, who had earlier directed Vicky in the 2019 film “Uri: The Surgical Strike”.
The actor also has Meghna Gulzar’s upcoming biopic “Sam Bahadur” on Sam Manekshaw, Shashank Khaitan’s upcoming comedy drama “Mr Lele” and Karan JoharThe “Takht”.
