Recently, while participating in an event, Dutt revealed how the time period was for him and his family when the news of his cancer diagnosis came ‘suddenly’ and why he chose not to undergo any treatment or chemotherapy for his serious illness. Sanjay Dutt was diagnosed with cancer last year. News reports claimed that he had been diagnosed with lung cancer but this was never confirmed by him or any family member. Talking about how he was informed about his cancer diagnosis, Dutt recently said in an event as per ETimes, “I had back pain and was treated with a hot water bottle and pain-killers. Till one day I couldn’t breathe. I was taken to the hospital but the thing was that the news of cancer didn’t hit me very well. My wife, my family or my sisters, no one was around me at that time. I was all alone and suddenly this man comes and tells me ‘you have cancer’.

Why did Sanjay Dutt not want to get treated for cancer?

Sanjay Dutt also revealed why he did not want to undergo cancer treatment or chemotherapy. “My wife was in Dubai, so Priya (sister Priya Dutt) came to me. My first reaction was that, once you hear something like this, your whole life reflects on you. History of cancer in my family My mother died of pancreatic cancer, my wife (Richa Sharma) died of brain cancer. So, the first thing I said was, I don’t want to have chemotherapy. If I have to die, I’ll just die but I’m not going to seek any treatment. Do not want.”
