Sangrur seat is the stronghold of Bhagwant Mann
Sangrur seat is the stronghold of CM Bhagwant Mann. Mann won two consecutive Lok Sabha elections from here. In 2019, when all the AAP’s Lok Sabha candidates were defeated in the entire country, Mann alone reached the Lok Sabha by winning. The Dhuri seat from which Mann won the election of MLA also comes under this seat.

Honor government’s credibility at stake
The credibility of the government will be at stake in the Sangrur by-election. These by-elections are being held after about two and a half months of the new government. If he wins here, the work of his government will be stamped. Which will further benefit in the assembly elections of Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat. If AAP loses this seat, then it is certain that it will be a big challenge before the government. At the same time, it will prove to be harmful for the Aam Aadmi Party politically.

No one has announced the candidate yet
No party has yet announced a candidate to contest from here. Many names are in discussion from here regarding Aam Aadmi Party. The biggest name among them is that of Manpreet Kaur, sister of CM Bhagwant Mann. Who herself has shown interest in contesting elections. Mann’s close friend Punjabi comedian Karmjit Anmol is also likely to contest the election. BJP can field former MLA Arvind Khanna from here. Congress and Akali Dal can also field a big face here. Congress’s Punjab chief Amarinder Singh Raja Vading will also face a challenge here. This is the first election in Punjab after his humiliating defeat in the Punjab Vis Elections and assuming the post of President.
