Sangeeth Sivan Funeral: Riteish Deshmukh And Fardeen Khan Attend Last Rites Of Filmmaker In Mumbai – News18

Filmmaker Sangeeth Sivan passed away on May 8 in Mumbai at the age of 61. Although the cause of his death has not been disclosed, it is reported that complications from an infection were involved. Sivan was primarily known for his work in the Malayalam film industry, notably directing the cult film Yoddha starring Mohanlal. In Hindi cinema, he directed films such as Kyaa Kool Hai Hum, Apna Sapna Money Money and Yamla Pagla Deewana 2. The final rites were held in Mumbai.

The news of Sivan’s demise has shocked filmmakers and celebrities alike. Riteish Deshmukh, who worked with Sivan on Kyaa Kool Hai Hum and Apna Sapna Money Money, expressed his condolences on social media. Riteish was also present at the final rites in Mumbai on Thursday. Fardeen Khan was also present and the duo were seen catching up. Filmmaker Ken Ghosh was also seen at the funeral.

As Fardeen was leaving, he shook hands with Riteish and hugged him. The duo has worked in films like Heyy Babyy and will also be seen in Housefull 5.

Riteish had earlier taken to social media to express grief over the filmmaker’s untimely demise. “Deeply saddened and shocked to know that Sangeeth Sivan Sir is no more. As a newcomer all you want is someone to believe in you and take a chance.. can’t thank him enough for Kya Kool Hai Hum & Apna Sapna Money Money,” he wrote. “Soft spoken, gentle and a wonderful human being. Am heart broken today, my deepest condolences to his family and loved ones, his wife, kids, brothers. I will miss you Da !!!!! And your infectious laughter!!! Rest in Glory,” he added while sharing a picture of the filmmaker.

Tusshar Kapoor also remembered the filmmaker. “Don’t have words to describe what I’m feeling right now…. A mentor of sorts, someone who introduced me to comedy with #KyakoolHainHum is no more! Sangeeth ji, I had the honour of working with you again recently but it’ll take me a long time to get over this sad news! RIP sir you will be missed! #SangeethSivan #gem.”
