South Korean Smartphone Manufacturers samsung The leader in the foldable smartphone space. The company has now patented a new Galaxy smartphone with a sideways folding display. According to the sketch of the patent, this smartphone has a triple camera setup with LED flash. As Let’s Go Digital reports, the design includes a hinge on the lower left hand side, as well as three magnets to keep the display affixed to the back cover.

The smartphone may come with a two-part battery, and that the folding display will be made of Samsung’s UTG (Ultra Thin Glass), the same protective layer that is used Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip3. Samsung recently patented a new Galaxy smartphone with a futuristic looking transparent display.

The company filed a patent with the USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office) and WIPO (World Intellectual Property Office) and was published last year. The patent describes the technology that is needed to make a transparent smartphone and could even be used in other electronic gadgets including TVs, monitors, laptops and gaming consoles.

As per the report, the device seen in the patent has narrow bezels and apparently uses a large transparent screen and an OLED panel. Samsung shipped four times more foldable devices in 2021 than last year, more than the threefold growth in the market that analysts were expecting.

According to the company, consumer enthusiasm for Samsung foldables is reflected in the success of the Galaxy Z series.
