Akshay Kumar The starrer ‘Samrat Prithviraj’ failed to attract the audience to the theatres. Released in theaters on June 3, the film is expected to collect Rs 65 crore at the box office. After doing good business during the weekend, Samrat Prithviraj has gone ‘flat’ at the ticket window. The historical drama earned Rs 3.24 crore on Sunday. The total collection of the film in India is Rs 61.72 crore. Reportedly, the morning shows of the film were canceled due to zero occupancy.

Written and directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi, the Akshay Kumar starrer received mixed reviews from audiences and critics alike. According to Box Office India, “Samrat Prithviraj posted a huge drop in the second weekend as it earned 7.25 crores in the second weekend. The film achieved some growth on Saturday and Sunday, which might not have come as heavy as coming out. Growth multiplex.”
“The film continues to do well in UP, MP and Rajasthan, with the first two names getting tax exemption, though it has a limited impact on collections. The best business will come in Delhi/UP where the film will cross the 20 crore net. Mumbai circuit is making 15 per cent less than Delhi/UP which is rare for a big film.”

Talking about the collection of the 10th day, according to film trade analyst Taran Adarsh, Samrat Prithviraj has registered a decline of 82% on his second weekend. He tweeted, “#SamratPrithviraj Flat in Weekend 2… 81.60% drop in Week 1 as compared to Week 2… [Week 2] Venus 1.50 crores, Saturn 2.50 crores, Sun 3.25 crores. Total: ₹ 62.30 Crore. #IndiaBiz.”
