Actress Sambhavna Seth and her husband Avinash Dwivedi have apologized to the tribal community whose sentiments were hurt by a recent video released by the duo. In the video, both Seth and her husband make fun of their domestic help’s language and her native place.
Videos posted on Instagram show Seth improvising Dwivedi as he tries to speak in the language of his domestic help. However, he is also seen laughing when he switches to Hindi.
The video received a lot of negative reactions on social media, after which both of them deleted the video. Now, he has put out another video on social media apologizing for any unintentional hurt caused by his comments.
The caption of the video read, “Apologizing to the entire tribal community along with @imavinashdwivedi.” In the video, Avinash says, “The video we posted on June 16 has hurt the sentiments of lakhs of people from the tribal community. We realized our mistake when we came to know that the language we have ridiculed belongs to a tribal community of Jharkhand. When we make videos without using any script, we use wrong words.”
Sambhavna said, “We would like to apologize to all our followers, subscribers, tribal and non-tribal communities. We are deeply saddened to read the comments on Instagram. It was not our intention to hurt you in the slightest. We have removed that video out of respect for all of you.”
