Samantha and Varun Dhawan teaming up for Citadel India edition? Twitter full of speculation

In January 2020, Amazon announced the US version of the multi-series franchise Citadel, with local productions being made simultaneously in Italy, India and Mexico. Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Richard Madden headlining the US version of ‘Mothership’. The series is from Avengers: Endgame directors Anthony and Joe Russo and anticipation is riding high on it. Earlier this year, the shooting of the series with Priyanka and Richard wrapped up.

Meanwhile, actors Varun Dhawan and Samantha were recently seen outside the office of director duo Raj and DK in Mumbai. Incidentally, Raj and DK, who are behind The Family Man series on Amazon Prime Video, are going to direct the India version of Citadel. The filmmakers also confirmed the news on their Instagram handle.

Now, as Samantha and Varun meet Raj and DK, speculations are rife that the actors are teaming up for the Citadel India edition. However, it is pure speculation as of now and nothing has been confirmed by the makers. After the meeting, Varun, Samantha and Raj Nidimoru posed for the photographers and their pictures went viral on Twitter with the hashtag ‘Citadel’. If this is true then this will be Varun’s first web series. Samantha has previously worked with Raj and DK in The Family Man 2, where her character Raazi became a huge success and launched her among the Hindi audience.

Varun’s other releases this year are Jag Jug Jio with Kiara Advani and horror-comedy with Bhideya masterpiece i say, Samantha’s Kathuvakula Rendu Kaadhal with Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara will release on April 28. His mythological film Shakunthalam will also release a few months from now.
