Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday claimed that his party and its ally Mahan Dal will form the government in Uttar Pradesh in the upcoming assembly elections.
Addressing a gathering of Mahan Dal workers in Lucknow, Yadav said that he has been saying till now that SP will get 350 seats but after Mahan Dal’s program they will win 400 seats.
He said, “When I talk about (winning) 400 seats, people start raising questions. But, when BJP talks about bullet train, no one questions it. You (BJP) said Varanasi Will be changed to Kyoto. But, has the city changed that anyone can see.”
The former chief minister claimed that the SP would take journalists to Kyoto if voted to power. “Cleaning up in Kyoto is unimaginable,” he said.
Attacking Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, Yadav described him as “fake” and said, “The real Keshav is Mahaan Dal’s Keshav Dev Maurya.”
Maurya said on this occasion, ‘BJP is saying that everyone is fighting with BJP. But the reality is that everyone is fighting against Akhilesh Yadav.
He said that if need be, he can merge his party with the SP to fight the BJP, and added that he will continue to be an ally of the SP till he is thrown out of the alliance.
Meanwhile, SP spokesperson Ashutosh Verma said that the Backward Classes Cell of the party will organize ‘Backward Classes Conference’ in various districts of the state from August 9 (August Kranti Diwas).
Under this, programs will be held in Kanpur on 9 August. On August 10, a program will be held on the birth anniversary of Phoolan Devi, village of Jalaun.
‘Pichhdha varg sammelan’ will be held in Jhansi on August 11 in Mahoba on August 12, in Hamirpur on August 13 and in Kanpur Dehat on August 14.
The party spokesperson said that the programs would conclude with a program at Fatehpur on August 15.
