Saina Nehwal’s reaction to Sidharth’s ‘sexist’ tweet: ‘He can express himself with better words’ Unique

Ace badminton player Saina Nehwal responded to the comments made on her by actor Siddharth. The latter is facing criticism from netizens for his ‘sexist’, ‘derogatory’ tweet. Talking to News18.com, she said, “Yes, I am not sure what he meant. I loved him as an actor but it was not good. He could express himself with better words. But I think Twitter gets attention with words and comments like this.”

“If the security of the PM of India is an issue then I am not sure what is safe in the country,” he said.

The Rang De Basanti actor has been slammed by netizens for his comment on Nehwal. On January 5, Nehwal had tweeted, “No country can claim itself to be safe if the security of its own PM is compromised. In the strongest possible terms, I condemn the cowardly attack on PM Modi by anarchists. #BharatStandsWithModi #PMModi.”

The tweet was in reference to the ‘security breach’ of PM Narendra Modi’s convoy in Punjab.

Retweeting this, he wrote, “The world’s micro cock champion… thank god we have India defenders. Shame on you #Rihanna.”

Following this tweet, several social media users called her out for her sexism.

However, Siddharth clarified his stand by tweeting another reply to this ongoing controversy. His post read, “”Cock and Bull” is the context. Otherwise reading is inappropriate and leading! Nothing offensive was intended, said or indicated. Period. 🙏🏽”

A few months back, she was again trolled by netizens for what they thought was an indirect comment on Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya’s divorce. However, the actor rubbished the claims that the tweet was about Samantha and Chaitanya’s divorce.
