South Africa beat Sri Lanka by four wickets in their T20 World Cup match here on Saturday. Chasing 143 for victory, South Africa reached the target in their Super 12 Group 2 match with one ball to spare, in which Wanindu Hasaranga de Silva also took a hat-trick.

Captain Temba Bavuma’s 46 was followed by an unbeaten 23 by David Millers.

Earlier, opener Pathum Nisanka hit a brilliant half-century before South Africa bundled out Sri Lanka for 142 runs. Invited to bat by South African captain Temba Bavuma, Nissenka played a 57-ball 72 for Sri Lanka.

He hit six fours and three sixes. For South Africa, left arm wrist spinner Tabraiz Shamsi (3/17) and Dwaine Pretorius (3/17) took three wickets each, while Enrique Nortje took two Sri Lankan batsmen.
