The ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine has entered its 19th day today. Russia stepped up strikes on Sunday with a deadly airstrikes on a military base in western Ukraine where Ukrainian troops were training alongside NATO forces, bringing conflict between Poland and other members of the bloc to a close. The ongoing fighting in several regions caused further misery across Ukraine and sparked renewed international outrage. Outside the capital of Kyiv, an American video journalist was killed on Sunday and another American journalist was injured in an attack by Russian forces. Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky accused Russia of trying to create new “pseudo-republics” to isolate his country. He called on the regions of Ukraine not to repeat the experience of 2014, when pro-Russian separatists began fighting against Ukrainian forces in the two eastern regions.
