Rumi Jaffrey tests Covid positive, thanks that didn’t happen during her daughter’s wedding – Times of India

film producer Rumi Jaffrey is down with COVID-19 and is unable to participate in the promotion of his film ‘Chehre’Which is going to release this Friday. The filmmaker said, “I was in Hyderabad with my daughter’s wedding and all my friends Neetu Kapoorhandjob Randhir Kapoor Many more friends attended the wedding which took place in the first week of August. I thank God that I got this disease on 15th August itself. All the people who attended the wedding went home safely.

So will the filmmaker miss out on watching his own film, to which Rumi said, “Luckily for me all the work around the film has been completed, including the promos and other things that were done earlier as the film is scheduled to release in April.” So there was nothing to worry about in that department as well.”

Rumi is currently in quarantine and will go for tests again later this week. “If I test negative, I will be able to come to Mumbai or watch the film in Hyderabad on the day of its release,” he said.

‘Chehre’ is an important film for Rumi Jaffrey, who has been typecast as a writer. There is a prevailing image that he only writes humor and hence he has a point to prove. He takes pride in the fact that he comes from a background in literature and theater and can write much more than punchy dialogues. He said, “Amitabh Bachchan always believed in my talent and told me to go ahead with the subject and work with the promise that he would be a part of my film. He spoke.”

He further added, “A comedy doesn’t take much for a director and it is a thriller which is challenging and gives the filmmaker to prove his mettle. ‘Chehre’ is one such film for me.”
