Wearing saffron-coloured clothes and reciting ‘Jai Shri Ram’ and ‘Hanuman Chalisa’, BJP MLAs approach the Speaker’s podium while protesting on the issue of allotment of a room for offering prayers in the Jharkhand Assembly on Tuesday. and disrupted the proceedings of the House.

As soon as the proceedings of the House began, BJP members started protesting against allotment of rooms for Namaz and employment policy of the state. Meanwhile, Assembly Speaker Rabindranath Mahato kept requesting the members who were creating ruckus to allow the proceedings of the House to continue.

The protesting members kept raising slogans during the Question Hour due to which the proceedings had to be adjourned till 12:30 pm.

Mahto told the protesting MLAs, “Insult to the post will not be tolerated. If you are angry then beat me up but don’t disturb the proceedings. Please go to your places…I am in a lot of trouble. Yesterday also you behaved very badly…It is a question of faith of 35 million people and your actions have hurt me.’

Amidst the uproar, the Speaker asked BJP MLA Bhanu Pratap Shahi to respect the Hanuman Chalisa and not use it for political gains. He said that he wished that ‘Bajrang Bali’ gives good sense to the agitating MLAs.
