Police sources said that when he was entering the block premises, two criminals shot and killed him. Bipin was taken to a private nursing home in Motihari where doctors declared him brought dead.
East Champaran SP Naveen Chandra Jha told this correspondent that a SIT team has been formed under the leadership of ASP Abhinav Dhiman to investigate the matter. He said that the relatives of the deceased have not registered any case in this regard so far.
Due to his enmity with many people in Harsiddhi Bazar, the police was investigating the matter from every angle.
Bipin was also attacked last year, but he escaped. The mob had attacked his house and beat up the family members there. That matter is pending in a court in Motihari.
Bipin had revealed through RTI last year that 99 people had occupied government land in Harsiddhi Bazar. After this the local administration started taking action against the land mafia.
