Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation Limited (GCMMF) Managing Director RS Sodhi was on Monday removed from the post with immediate effect. This decision was taken in the board meeting of the Federation in Gandhinagar.

GCMMF is known as AMUL. His office was also sealed. Amul’s COO Jay Mehta has been given the charge of MD for the time being.

The statement signed by GCMMF president Shamalbhai Patel and vice chamarion Valamjibhai Hamble said the organization has decided to terminate the services of RS Sodhi as the managing director of the federation with immediate effect.

When contacted, Sodhi confirmed to PTI that he has resigned from the post of MD.

“I was on extension. The board has accepted my resignation,” he said.

Sodhi joined GCMMF 40 years ago as a sales officer. He was on extension of service for the last two years.

Sodhi, also the President of Indian Dairy Federation, was the MD of GCMMF Limited (AMUL) since June 2010.
