Rs 43 lakh Ulhasnagar robbery: Thane police nab four | Thane News – Times of India

KALYAN: The Thane police arrested four persons in connection with a robbery incident which took place in Thane’s Ulhasnagar last month.
The arrested persons have been identified as Akbar Khan, Asif Shaikh, Shivsingh Shikalkar and Rahulsingh Juni.
According to police, Akbar is the main accused and he resides in Mumbra area of Thane. The officials are still searching for three more accused.
On August 30, around seven masked robbers armed with sword, knife, after threatening priest Jacky Jagiasi and his family at their residence, had stolen valuables worth Rs 43 lakh. During robbery they had injured 14-year- old Chirag and one of them held a sword against Jagiasi’s eight year-old daughter Diya’s throat asking the family to stay silent while others were busy in stealing valuables.
Following the incident, taking serious note of the matter, the Thane police had formed eight different teams that included Kalyan zone, Ulhasnagar zone, Anti Extortion Cell and local Vithalwadi police.
To crack the case, the teams checked over 100 CCTVs in Ulhasnagar, Dombivli, Kalyan and Navi Mumbai to reach up to robbers and finally Kalyan crime branch unit team led by Kishore Shirshat nabbed Khan from Mumbra.
Shirshat said, “Khan is main accused who plotted entire robbery with other accused. Khan has multiple cases registered against him in past and in 2021 he was released on bail after serving eight years in jail”.
The police after arresting Khan have arrested three others and hope to nab remaining accused in the case.
Anil Mangale, Ulhasnagar crime unit in-charge said, “We have recovered two cars, 2 motorcycles and one watch of complainant in case while recovery of other valuables is still going on by local Vithalwadi police to whom we now have handed accused”.
