RRR: SS Rajamouli’s film budget revealed, more expensive than Jr NTR-Ram Charan starrer Bahubali

Count on SS Rajamouli to set new benchmarks in the Indian film industry. The director re-wrote history by making Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali: The Conclusion. Not only films made in big budget, but their collection also broke box office records. Needless to say, fans are hopeful that Rajamouli will outshine himself with the upcoming film RRR: Rise, Roar, Revolt. Well, it seems that the film has surpassed Baahubali, at least in terms of the budget of the film.

According to a report in the Indian Express, Andhra Pradesh Minister Perni Nani had disclosed this in a statement. The minister’s statement to the press said, “We have received an application from the makers of RRR. As per that information, the makers have spent Rs 336 crore on the film, excluding GST and salary of the cast and crew. Soon. The file itself will reach the Chief Minister and we will decide on further hike in movie ticket prices.

Needless to say, the budget of the film will easily exceed Rs 400 crore in total, considering that the film has some of the best stars. The film stars Ram Charan and Jr NTR in lead roles, and Bollywood actors Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt in lead roles. Earlier, media reports claimed that Ram Charan and Jr NTR charged Rs 45 crore, while Ajay Devgn agreed to be a part of the film for Rs 25 crore, while Alia Bhatt charged Rs 9 crore. SS Rajamouli had reportedly opted for a 30 per cent profit share from the film.

According to a report in Hindustan Times, Baahubali: The Conclusion was made on a budget of Rs 250 crore. While Rajamouli took Rs 28 crore, Prabhas took Rs 25 crore and Rana Daggubati Rs 15 crore.

RRR stars Jr NTR as Komaram Bheem and Ram Charan Alluri as Sitaram Raju, while Alia Bhatt will play Sita. Originally scheduled for a July 2020 release, the film is finally set for a theatrical release on March 25.
