Rajasthan Royals set a target of 170 runs in front of Royal Challengers Bangalore. Batting first after losing the toss, Rajasthan got off to a bad start. Yashasvi Jaiswal was dismissed after scoring four runs. He was clean bowled by David Willey. Yashasvi was dismissed for four runs in six balls. Devdutt Padikkal then shared a 49-ball 70-run partnership with Jos Buttler for the second wicket.
During this, Butler got two lives in the seventh over of Rajasthan’s innings. One catch was dropped by Akash Deep on his own bowling and one by David Willey. On the very next ball, Butler sprinkled salt on Bangalore’s wound by hitting a six. Harshal Patel broke the partnership of Padikkal and Butler. Harshal gets Padikkal caught by Kohli.

Meanwhile, Butler scored his 12th fifty of IPL career. He remained unbeaten on 70 off 47 balls. This includes six sixes. Butler did not hit a single boundary. He played an unbeaten partnership of 83 runs in 51 balls with Hetmyer. Together they scored 66 runs in the last five overs.
Buttler and Hetmyer together scored 23 runs in the last over. Hetmyer remained unbeaten on 42 off 31 balls with the help of four fours and two sixes. David Willey, Hasranga and Harshal got one wicket each for Bangalore.
