Inspector Mingam Dorje Bhutia of Railway Protection Force was awarded the Police Medal by the SPG for his outstanding service in the security of the Prime Minister during his deputation to the Special Protection Group (SPG). According to the information, before posting in the North Post of Howrah RPF under Howrah Division of Eastern Railway, RPF Inspector MD Bhutia was sent to the SPG on deputation from 2010 to 2019 for the security of the Prime Minister of India.

After successful completion of the tenure, Railway Board posted Inspector Bhutia as Commander at Howrah North Post in Howrah Division of Eastern Railway. On the other hand, in view of the excellent service of Inspector Bhutia during the tenure of deputation, SPG selected him for the Police (Special Duty) Medal. The medal sent by the SPG was sent by the Railway Board to the Eastern Railway.
In the past, Ajay Prakash Dubey, Senior Divisional Security Commissioner (Cord) of Howrah RPF honored Inspector MD Bhutia by wearing a police medal. The pride of RPF has also increased after the SPG honored Inspector Bhutia.
