Royal Challengers Bangalore release Vanindu Hasaranga, Dushmantha Chameera from Bio-Bubble

Royal Challengers Bangalore on Monday named all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga and pacer Dushmantha Chameera in the Sri Lankan squad ahead of next week’s T20 World Cup qualifiers, freeing them from the team’s bio-bubble. Hasaranga and Chamira were included by the franchise as replacement players for Australians Adam Zampa and Daniel Sams before the second leg of the current season.

While Hasaranga featured in two matches, Chamira was not selected in the playing XI for either game. Both will miss out on RCB’s Eliminator against Kolkata Knight Riders in Sharjah on Monday.

“Vanindu Hasaranga and Dushmantha Chameera have been released from the RCB bio bubble as they join the SL squad for their #WT20 Qualifiers.

RCB tweeted, “We wish both the best and thank them for their professionalism and hard work during IPL 2021.”

Sri Lanka are part of Group A and will start their WT20 campaign against Namibia in Abu Dhabi on 18 October.
